O Sporting returned to the victories in the Portuguese championship and won, on Friday night, in the visit to Sporting Braga, by 1-3, in a game that was valid for the eighth day of the I League that had two goals of each of the goalkeepers and in which the lions even began to lose... before calling the South American brute force to resolve the matter.
In the first part very balanced and with few occasions of goal, the worms placed themselves in front with a self-neck of Rui Silva (41 minutes). It was the second time the lion goalkeeper scored on his own goal, a record not usual for a player of this position.
After the lion's deficit in the first part, Rui Borges went to the bench of alternates the Uruguayans Maxi Araújo and Zalazar and the Colombian Luis Suárez, who had games for their respective selections a few days before, with two players from this trio of South Americans having an impact on the result.
Shortly after game time, Irankunda fled from the left side and made a sugary crossing for Luis Suárez, who headed for the goal (66 minutes). Later, and in a move that was influenced by Zalazar, Bernardo Fontes also scored on the goal itself (61′). To close the accounts in Minho, the 17 of the green and white shirt, which was injured right after the bid, turned the marker (82′).
With this triumph, Sporting surpasses Benfica in second position and approaches FC Porto leader, but has to wait for the games of the incarnates’ and dragons’ on this journey. On the other hand, Rui Borges first won Sporting Braga since moving to Alvalade.
In turn, the Sporting de Braga, which has one less game and is already seven points away from the green and white, again made a gray show’ and in the end the fans showed displeasure with white handkerchiefs for Coach Carlos Vicens.
But let's get to the notes of this match:
Figure
Rodrigo Zalazar it took a few minutes in the field that were enough to make all the difference in the marker. He was at the origin of Bernardo Fontes' self-neck and pointed out the lions' third attempt.
Surprise
Denis Huseinbasic was one of the good units in this match. It has in the long-distance shots one of its main weapons and it was with it that opened the countdown near the time interval. He's one of the players who connects well with his teammates.
Disillusion
Gabriel Silva has been one of the surprises in this Sporting Braga, but the night was not Brazilian. It was forgiving when, even in the first half, you had a clear opportunity to score.
Trainers
Carlos Vicens
Sporting Braga was well in the first part and managed to control well the game plan that the opponent brought. You scored one goal, but you could have scored another. It began with an upward in the second half, but eventually succumbed to the moves promoted by the lions.
Rui Borges
It was in the bank that was the solution for the transmontano to achieve the first victory against Sporting Braga since moving to Sporting. The first part was not negative, but left to be desired as regards finalisation. The entry into the field of the trio of South Americans turned out to be fundamental.
Arbitration
João Pinheiro conducted a safe and personalized arbitration, analyzing almost all bids correctly. The work ends up getting stained by the thing that neither the Minhoto judge nor the Manuel Mota VAR saw a penalti by hand in Issa Doumbia's ball.
