Alex Merrim, captain of the futsal team at Sporting, was suspended for a game by the Council of Discipline (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), for insults to the referee of his son's departure in the district of children.

O FPF’s CD considered it proved that, on March 22, this year, Alex Merlim leaned “the shoulder to the referee who judged that meeting and uttered in his direction the expression “you are a son of a... [gross language], having been intercepted by the security team present”.
The Italian Sporting International was present in the stands for being the father of the captain of the ‘leonina’ team who faced Quinta dos Lombos, in meeting the District Championship I Division sub-13 futsal of the Lisbon Football Association.
The episode took place at the end of the game, marked by the expulsion of a player from Sporting, when the referee went to the locker rooms.
As he is enrolled in a competition organised by the FPF, Merrim is “subjectly subject to the disciplinary power” of the body, having been sanctioned with a game of suspension for the violation of “Article 153(2)(a)” of the disciplinary regulation, concerning offences for “threats and offences against honor, consideration or dignity”.
