A Judicial Police (JP) arrested, in flagrante delicto, in Madeira International Airport, two men and a woman who carried heroin and cocaine concealed in their luggage, as part of an action to prevent drug trafficking in the archipelago.
In a statement sent this Thursday, October 7, to News to Minutes, inspectors revealed that the suspects were seized about 11,700 kilograms of heroin and 1,174 kilograms of cocaine.
In the illicit market, this amount of drugs, as the inspectors pointed out, “would account for about 117,000 individual doses of heroin and about 5,870 individual doses of cocaine”.
Suspects living on the island of Madeira, aged between 38 and 53, will now be present the first judicial interrogation, to apply coercion measures taken as appropriate.
The investigation continues with the Judiciary Police (JP), and the investigation will be titled by the Departments of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Funchal.
