O President of the United States, Donald Trump, today demanded “compliments” for the Immigration and Customs Service (ICE) for the arrest of a Dominican, shot by agents while he was in his vehicle with his five-year-old son.

“ Yesterday, our ICE heroes captured a man with a criminal record a mile long, who was wanted for possible murder and murder by gangs; in other words, the gang killed someone. A charming person”, said at a rally in Syracuse, New York.

The arrest and the patterns in which it took place this Thursday led to the streets of Manhattan hundreds of New Yorkers, who demanded this Friday the abolition of the ICE and that the Attorney General's Office of New York conduct an independent investigation into the latest shooting perpetrated by one of its agents.

The protesters walked several streets of downtown Manhattan on a peaceful march, under close police surveillance and representatives of the American Union for Civil Liberties (ACLU), wielding posters with rejection messages to the ICE and demanding that the agent who shot Oscar Bengal be charged.

The posters showed a photograph of the agent, identified by protesters as Brendan Cuni, with a construction vest and the message: “Acclaim Brendan Cuni for attempted murder of Oscar Bengal. His 5-year-old son was in the back seat.”.

The march took place the day after Bengal, aged 28, was shot while driving the vehicle in the company of his son, in the neighborhood of Marble Hill, Bronx, which increased the indignation of New Yorkers and attention at national level, after ICE operations caused deaths and injuries throughout the country.

Bengal, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), suffered only superficial injuries caused by a bullet or fragments of it in the neck, and was later transferred to a nearby hospital and later to an immigration center outside New York.

An order issued by a judge following an appeal by Bengal’s lawyers ordered him to remain in New York, and is now held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) federal detention center in Brooklyn County.

The ICE agents were wearing construction vests when they intervened against Bengal, who, according to DHS, is connected to the Los Trinitarios gang. The body stated that the immigrant “used his car as a weapon” and tried to run over the agents, so one of them fired.

Trump classified Bengal “a very dangerous person”, so he “was captured.” “But instead of receiving praise, the ICE is being despised by New York politicians who let it go,” the President added.

Bengal is “wanted for murder” and the Democrats intend to free him, accused Trump, who gave a speech in support of the Republican candidate for the post of governor of the state of New York, Bruce Blakeman.

If Blakeman is elected and Republicans win in Congress – Trump promised – they will prevent “criminal illegal aliens from being released” and “veget cities and states-sanctuary”.
