O president Donald Trump today expressed “total and unconditional support” to Benjamin Netanyahu in the October 27 parliamentary elections in Israel, saying that if the current Prime Minister is not re-elected, America will be alone in the war against Iran.

In a message addressed to the “people of Israel”, published in the social network Truth Social nine days after the election, the President of the United States of America (USA) expresses the “total and unconditional support to Bibi Netanyahu in his next race for re-election as Israeli Prime Minister.”.

“Bibi Netanyahu has been a great Prime Minister, a warrior and an even greater partner for peace in the fight against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he begins by saying, saying that he has observed the current head of Israeli government “in the most difficult moments.”.

“If Israel has the wrong leader – which would be anyone but Bibi – America will have to do this work alone, and I am not willing to do it. Bibi Netanyahu has proved strong, courageous and brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition, including that coming from Israel. Despite all this, he resisted (...) ", he stressed.

Claiming that Netanyahu “did not give in” and that he became “stronger,” Trump said that this “is the kind of partner that the US requires from Israel.”.

Netanyahu reacted to support by thanking Trump for his words. “Thank you, President Trump, for the immense support and for our joint work. Together, we will take the mission to the end!”, wrote in the X.

The legislative elections in Israel are scheduled for October 27.

Legislatives are one of the most uncertain of all, with the majority of polls giving a slight advantage to the Yashar party, former Chief of the Gadi Eisenkot Armed Forces, ahead of the Likud, of Benjamin Netanyahu.

However, either of the two candidates falls short of the 61 Members who allow the control of the Knesset (Parliament), even with alliances of the pro-government bloc or opposition.

Arab parties can achieve up to 20 seats in the Knesset, according to polls.

Early voting began on October 15 in nearly 100 countries, including Portugal, addressed to some 4,800 diplomatic and family officials.

This week, they will start voting for the military deployed abroad.

Head of US diplomacy relativizes sanctions against Moscow

The head of US diplomacy, Marco Rubio, relativized Donald Trump's decision to exempt Russia from further sanctions, stating that this is a pause to examine the economic effects of the measures.
