“ Pwe erect one of the students” in the early morning attack at a Basaksehir school in the northwest of the city, Turkish Minister of Education Yusuf Tekin said to the Turkish media

“ One of the students, Eslem Sare Bulut, who was receiving medical attention, died despite all efforts. The other seven injured students remain hospitalized,” said the Turkish Ministry of Interior on social network X.

Police reported that she stopped the alleged 15-year-old attacker.

The governor of Istanbul, Davut Gul, indicated that the aggressor, who entered the educational institution with a school uniform, stabbed the young women “indiscriminately”, adding that the attacker “ lives in the same neighborhood, but attends another school”.

The country was shaken this year by two massacres in schools, which occurred last April.

One of them, in a school, committed by a 14-year-old in Kahramanmaras (south), caused the death of a teacher and nine children of 10 and 11 years old. The author, the son of a retired police officer, was killed at the scene. The massacre, the worst ever committed in a school in Turkey, led to the resignation of the Deputy Minister of Education.

Another incident had taken place on the eve in the province of Sanliurfa (southeast), where a former student carried out a firearm attack at his school, injuring 16 people before taking his own life.

Last month, a teenager started shooting in front of a school in western Turkey, injuring 11 students — three of them with gravity — before being arrested.
