O after four consecutive defeats in the League of Nations, the Turkish Football Federation announced today.

“ The decision was made not to continue with Mr. Vincenzo Montella as coach of the national team ", informed the body, in a statement.

The exit of the coach appears after four consecutive exits in the League of Nations, in which Turkey scored only one goal and suffered 11, compromising the stay in League A, which brings together the main European teams.

The Turks lost with France (1-0), Belgium (3-0) and Italy (3-1).

Montella, 52, took office in September 2023, succeeding the German Stefan Kuntz, and led Turkey to the quarterfinals of Euro2024 in Germany.

At World Cup2026, in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the Turkish team failed to overcome the group phase, despite winning a 3–2 victory against the American co-organizers.

Among the names pointed out by the Turkish press to succeed Montella is the 39-year-old Turkish international Arda Turan, who currently guides the Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk.
