Quh, did you say salt is just to season food? In fact, this ingredient has several household uses.

A post of the page ‘Tips To His House’ highlighted some of the uses of salt that will come in handy.

Uses of coarse salt

1. Helps to fix the color of new clothes;

2. Removes rust from pots (or pans);

3. Melts the ice from the sidewalk in winter;

4. Helps exfoliate aluminum objects;

6. Cleans containers with fat (water with salt);

7. Helps to drain when mixed with boiling water;

8. Along with half a lemon, it helps to clean wooden board;

9. absorbs moisture from cabinets;

10. Eliminate slugs from the garden.

“ It is worth remembering that not all tips circulating on the internet work in the same way in any situation. Some depend on the type of material, the amount used and the care during the application”, highlights the page, noting that it is important to test in a smaller area before applying the salt.

It's not just the salt. The baking powder is also useful!

Like salt, baking powder also has various uses at home.

“ The baking powder is sodium bicarbonate with a dry acid (usually two, one acting at low temperatures and the other acting at higher temperatures). This contains a considerable amount of maize starch – sometimes almost 1/3 of the contents of the pack. Taking this into account, baking powder is more effective in producing effervescence and absorbing liquids than in cleaning,” explains chemist Eric Wolfson to Martha Swart’s website.

Thus, the yeast proves useful to help remove the moss from the roof, to protect bee hives, to clean stainless steel items, to remove stains from stone countertops, to make homemade bath pumps, to clean pots and jewelry, to leave the vessels as new and still to repel pests.
