ANDaging is a natural process. The years may be passing by you and you don't even realize it. However, there are some signs to which you should be aware and which show that you are “officially” getting older. A specialist doctor tells you what to take into account.
Doctor Babak Ashrafi revealed to the newspaper Metro some of the signs that reveal you're getting older. Is that something that's already happening to you? In some cases it may be reason to be seen by a doctor.
7 signs of “officially” aging
1- Wake up more at night
“ Our sleep can change naturally with age, and we can spend less time in deeper stages of sleep. This is partly due to decreased production of sleep hormones, such as melatonin and cortisol, by the organism over time, along with biological changes in the internal biological clock.”

2- Changes in libido
“ In men it happens because testosterone levels gradually decrease, while in women estrogen and testosterone levels fall dramatically during perimenopausal and menopause.”
3- Changes in erections
“ Occasional difficulties in getting or maintaining an erection are common, but if this happens often, it is important to seek medical advice. Erectile dysfunction may have psychological causes, but may also be associated with physical health problems, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.”
4- Blood pressure rising
“ You may even feel perfectly healthy as your blood pressure increases slowly, because sometimes this does not cause noticeable symptoms. Blood vessels naturally become less flexible as we age, and that is one of the reasons why the risk of hypertension can increase.”
5- Cholesterol levels change
“ Identifying high cholesterol offers the opportunity to make lifestyle changes and, when necessary, evaluate treatment before contributing to more severe cardiovascular problems.”
6- Harder to keep weight
“ Since muscles use energy, it can affect the amount of calories your body needs. Maintaining muscle mass through regular endurance exercises, together with keeping active and having a balanced diet, becomes increasingly important.”
7- Needs more time to recover from exercise
“ Recovery may take longer as we get older, but that doesn't mean you should stop challenging your body. Regular physical exercises are one of the best things you can do to promote healthy aging.”
