O president of the Porto Football Association (AF Porto), José Manuel Neves, said today that he intends to make available the training center of the institution for the World Cup of 2030, at the inauguration of the second phase.

“ We want to say present to the joint project Portugal, Spain and Morocco of the World 2030, making this asset available to this organization, contributing to its success”, said the leader, during a ceremony that was attended by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro.

The new stage of the complex adds two football fields, about a year after the opening of the first field, called Diogo Jota, providing “more space to train and more space to form”.

The leader said that the project will have two more phases, which will require “investment capacity, coordination and persistence”, stressing the importance of maintaining the union between the entities involved.

“ From the beginning, this construction was designed to be carried out in phases, ensuring sustainability, quality and efficiency in each step”, he explained.

The president of the Portuense association defended a rigorous management of resources and the use of spaces by the community, whenever the conditions allow it, highlighting that the center has an activity that exceeds the sports dimension.

According to José Manuel Neves, the infrastructure has been affirmed as a space for “training, training, meeting and development”, allowing PA Porto to broaden horizons beyond the district and seek to assert itself as a national and international reference.

“Training is a responsibility we share. It starts in clubs, passes in associations and has in the Portuguese Football Federation the reference of national and international dimension ", highlighted.

The leader also highlighted the responsibility of preserving the memory of space, linked to Nicolau Nasoni, associating the construction of the center with an idea of urban regeneration.

“Regeneration does not just mean building, it means giving life to places,” he said, before pointing to an infrastructure capable of bringing together different generations and transmitting knowledge: “This Training Center is not mine. This training center is ours. It's from all of us. May it be a space of opportunities, dreams and the future”.
