O what were you gonna do at the end of the afternoon of Wednesday? You can't be home unless you can see the sun. Solar eclipse is one of the phenomena of the year and there are several points in the country where it can observe and safely.
There are events that entitle the glasses, but also places with a more unladen view where you can follow everything. Look at the suggestions we have for you.
Where to see the eclipse?
1- Reguengos de Monsaraz
The Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz promotes an event to see the eclipse with the right to a telescope and a guide with specialization in astronomy to explain everything that is happening. This initiative takes place in the City Park, and was developed in partnership with the Lake Alqueva Observatory. In this location you can see the sun hidden at 95%. There will also be the presence of DJ Moonlight, activities for children and the distribution of certain certified glasses (limited to stock).
2- Santo Amaro Beach, Oeiras
Santo Amaro Beach, in Oeiras, will receive a special event from 16 hours on Wednesday. The party lasts until 10:00, just after the eclipse and sunset. There will be dj set with “a continuous and evolutionary musical line” and “whose sound alignment accompanies the natural evolution of the phenomenon”, says the City Council. A comment will also be made and there will also be a giant screen broadcasting the phenomenon.

3- Blackberries 360o, Lisbon
In the purchase of a ticket to climb to the viewpoint of Amorairas Shopping gets glasses to see the eclipse safely. Tickets must be purchased at the reception of the mall between 6:30 and 8:30. They explain that it will be limited to the existing stock. You can only stay at the viewpoint for 15 minutes.
4-CEiiA, Matosinhos
Starting at 6:30, everyone is invited to pass CEiiA in Matosinhos. At 7:15 you can see the eclipse safely and with appropriate glasses. “The starting point for a broader conversation about the importance of Earth Space and Observation to respond to current challenges such as monitoring of territory, oceans, climate change or natural resource management,” they reveal in a statement.
5- Capricciosa Restaurants, Grande Lisboa
In one of the terraces of the brand restaurants you can see the eclipse, but here is another point of interest. All day on Wednesday all desserts will be 20% off.
6- By car in Bragança or Alentejo interior
Yescapa shared two locations in Portugal where you can see the eclipse from a caravan. They are the Natural Park of Montesinho and region of Bragança and also the interior Alentejo. “The region of Bragança, in particular the surrounding area of the Natural Park of Montesinho, will be one of the points of greatest interest for those seeking to follow the eclipse under privileged conditions”, they reveal in a statement.
7- Cabo da Roca Lighthouse
A plot of land near Cape Roca Lighthouse will be opened to the public to see the eclipse. The space will open from 5:00. The entrance costs €5 and you will have access to a pair of glasses to see the moon pass ahead of the sun.
8- Secret Garden LX, Lisbon
The Secret Garden LX, next to the viewpoint of Nossa Senhora do Monte, is one of the best places in town to see the eclipse of Wednesday. There will be goggles for anyone who wants to participate. It all starts from 6:00.
9- Foz do Douro
This will also be one of the best in town not to lose anything of the eclipse. With the sun setting in the ocean, you want a free and open space so you don't miss anything. Here you should take the goggles. There might even be someone next door I can borrow to watch for a few seconds.
10- Viceroy at Ombria Algarve
The central square of this resort Algarvio welcomes Michelin-star chefs, various dishes thought in detail and an eclipse to happen. The experience costs 150 euros and brings together 15 moments. You still get your glasses so you don't miss anything from the event in heaven. Everything happens between 6:00 and 10:00.
