A Air Europa will fly again between the Spanish capital, Madrid, and the Venezuelan capital from Tuesday, after having operated from Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia in July and August, as well as Iberia.
“ We are happy to reconnect Caracas to our usual network of destinations and to be able to continue to accompany you on your next trips,” Air Europa said on the website.
Iberia will also reconnect with Caracas from next Thursday, with three weekly flights – Monday, Thursday and Sunday – as confirmed by the airline to the Europa Press news agency.
The air operation with Venezuela has been facing difficulties since the end of 2025, when the Venezuelan Government suspended the flight permits to the country, after the companies decided to suspend the connections following an alert from the United States, which urged the aircraft to “take extreme precautions” when flying over the territory.
Subsequently, the earthquakes registered in Venezuela on June 24 forced the temporary closure of Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, in the capital of the country.
The earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 occurred 200 kilometers from Caracas, less than a minute apart, and were followed by hundreds of replicas, according to the United States Geological Service.
