“ ANDthere is a systematic attack on the railway network throughout the country. Our monitoring centre and our employees are on high alert,” Ukrzaliznytsia indicated in a statement, quoted by AFP, warning of significant delays and possible withdrawal of passengers.
A Russian drone struck today a convoy bound for Warsaw, near the Polish border with Ukraine, without causing casualties, announced Warsaw and Kyiv, and Zelensky also indicated that the west of the country was being attacked.
The Polish railway company PKP Intercity indicated that the train, with 206 passengers on board, made the connection between Kyiv and Warsaw.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Moscow hit the train “deliberately”.
“ For the second day in a row, the enemy is attacking the railway network. Today, in Volínia, two kilometres from the border with Poland, the enemy hit the locomotive of a passenger train”, denounced on Telegram the state company, according to Efe.
The train crew was alerted in advance to the threat and, thanks to this, there were no injuries, explained the company, which did not specify whether the train was stopped or circulating at the time of impact.
