What is osteosarcoma?
According to the Cuf website, “primary bone cancer – osteosarcoma – is a malignant tumor originating in bone-forming cells, osteoblasts and may appear mainly in the knee or upper arm. It's the most frequent bone cancer, especially in adolescents. It may rarely originate in non-bone tissue”.
“ Secondary bone cancer is bone lesions that are formed by cells originating in other organs that have circulated through the vessels and implanted into the bones. This condition is called bone metastases, common with prostate, lung and breast cancer. Secondary bone cancer is much more common than primary bone tumours”, it can still be read in site.
