Base of the slabs: Rubio assures us that U.S. always respects protocols

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said today in Lisbon that the use of the Lajes base in the Azores by the US military forces follows “the protocols” and praised Portugal as “a great ally.”.

“Twe are protocols that define our presence and always respect them”, said the head of diplomacy of the United States at a press conference with the Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel, after a meeting at the Palace of Needs.

“Portugal has been a great ally and has always been,” said Rubio, stressing that “not all countries” had the same position.
