O Bayern Munich did no less and applied a total ban on Vincent Kompany as regards the daily operations of the main football team, after about a week ago the coach passed out while attending a sub-23 training, and was transported urgently to a hospital unit.

The former Belgian international spent five days under medical observation, before being diagnosed with irritation in the meninges, to which it will have contributed greatly the excessive way in which he was dedicated to work, sleeping little, not practicing physical exercise, eating unhealthyly and drinking more coffee than was recommended.

Given this scenario, his deputy, Aaron Danks, who was delegated the responsibility of guiding the Bavarians while recovering, confirmed this Friday at the press conference forecasting to the long-awaited Der Klassiker of the Bundesliga's eighth day before Borussia Dortmund, who received indications not to even respond to him.

“No, absolutely not. No, not at all. We are taking this very seriously. I have clear instructions from Max [Eberl, the general director of the club] and Christoph [Freund, the sports director] not to enter into dialogue, in the first place, and to keep Vince busy with nothing more than his health and spending time with his family,” he said.

“ We're taking this very seriously. We want him to rest and recover properly, so that when he returns, he is fully fit and can help us in the best way possible. We are being very strict here, and we are totally keeping football out of this”, he added, in statements reproduced by the German newspaper Bild.

“Works 18 hours a day and, on normal days, barely sees the children”

The care taken by Bayern Munich appears, appreciably, year and a half after vincent Kompany's father, Pierre Kompany, has taken on concerns about his lifestyle: “As a player, he was disciplined, but now, as a coach, he is even more demanding. He has a daily routine that hardly allows him to pause. Early in the morning, he is already in the training center and, at night, he is the last to leave”.

“Works on most days 18 hours a day and, on normal days, hardly sees the children (...). We taught our children not to react in anger, but through their performance. Their mother, however deceased, was very important. Ever since they started talking, I've been telling them very clearly: ‘They have to work much more than others to be successful’, he added.

Der Klassiker shakes the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich-Borussia Dortmund has an initial whistle scheduled for 5:30 p.m. this Saturday at Allianz Arena, and will be whistled by German referee Tobias Stieler. Face to face, there will be the two Bundesliga leaders, with 17 points each, at the end of eight rounds, so, with a winner, ‘take off’ at the top.

Right behind are SV 07 Elvesberg (who, on the eve, received and beat Mainz, by category 4-1), Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg (who will face, respectively, Stuttgart and Augsburg), all of them with 13 points.
