This balance sheet therefore interrupts a five-month round of retreats as the number of unemployment benefit beneficiaries has been declining since February.
With regard to unemployment benefit, in July there was an annual drop of 4.4% in the number of beneficiaries (less than 6.361), totaling 138,431. However, in the chain comparison, there was an increase of 0.9% (plus 1,235 beneficiaries).
“ The average monthly unemployment allowance in July was EUR 765.64, which is equivalent to a positive annual variation of 8.2%”, notes DGCP.

For the first time, the synthesis developed by DGCP breaks down the data for younger beneficiaries (16-24 years), indicating that in July they covered 4,957 young people, i.e. an annual fall of 1.2% and a decrease of 0.5% in monthly terms.
Unemployment benefits remain mainly requested by women, corresponding to 100,271 beneficiaries and 69,272 beneficiaries (40.9%).
By age group, 11.3% of beneficiaries were 29 or less years old, 20.6% were in the age group between 30 and 39 years old, 22.6% were between 40 and 49 years old, 24.6% were in the age group between 50 and 59 years old, and 20.9% were 60 or older.
