O Benfica won, early this Saturday afternoon, the 2026 edition of the Antonio Super Cup Livramento, thanks to the triumph won over the eternal rival, Sporting, by 3-2, in the long awaited final played in the Municipal Pavilion of Santo Tirso, in which was given the ‘starting shot’ for the new season of hockey in Portuguese skates.

The lions were, still, the team that best entered the always ‘scaldante’ derbi lisboeta, in such a way that they needed only 13 minutes to put themselves in the lead of the marker, through Nolito, in a bid in which the arbitration team composed by Fernando Vasconcelos, Miguel Guilherme and Manuel Oliveira had to review the images, to confirm that the disc had effectively passed the line of goal.

From then on, the national champions in title set out for the attack, but only managed to overthrow the green and white resistance already in the second half, at 28 minutes, when, after a pitch of understanding from the right side, João Rodrigues ‘fired’ to the bottom of the nets to the guard of Xano Edo, causing a new ‘explosion’ of joy in the stands.

The holders of the Portuguese Cup tried to react, but ran into one afternoon particularly 'inspired' by Pedro Henriques. And, as a non-marker, he risks suffering, at 35 minutes, these even suffered the ‘cambalhota’ in the marker, the result of a long-distance shot by Zé Miranda.

Instants later, Nolito saw the blue card and left the green and white emblem temporarily reduced to four units, which led to an authentic ‘offensive avalanche’ by the incarnates. However, Xano Edo, now the irons, prevented new attempts, so the marker did not undergo any new changes until 48 minutes, when Gonçalo Pinto conducted a lethal counterattack.

In one of the last pitches before the final whistle, Rafa Bessa shot to tell of the ‘half of the street’, but it was too late for lions to dream of another result than defeat.
