Pthey 08:55 in Lisbon, the EuroStoxx 600 lost 0.92% to 630,12 euros.
At the same time, Milan devalued 1.49%, Paris retreated 0.99%, London fell 0.95%, Frankfurt lost 0.85%, and Madrid fell 0.80%.
Scholarship performance in Europe has been impacted by the evolution of the barrel of oil, which trades at $107.8, after rising another 2.0%, remaining dependent on tensions over the Strait of Ormuz.
To this is added the reaction of investors to the calls of leaders of the largest AI companies in the market, who called for a slowdown in the development of this technology.
Last week, Anthropic investigator Jacob Coxon, who also worked for OpenAI, resigned, considering that the company was not acting responsibly or giving due attention to security.
On Saturday, Anthropic’s executive president, Dario Amodei, called for a slowdown in the pace at which AI models are being developed, warning that progress is being made towards a dynamic of “recursive self-improvement” that can result in global cybersecurity disasters.
OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, echoed the appeal and said it would allow independent evaluators to audit their systems.
Also Musk, whose SpaceX holds SpaceXAI repeated the appeal.
In addition to oil, natural gas also continues to rise by increasing 0.33% to 82.83 euros per megawatt hour.
Investors also remain alert to developments in bond interest rates, which continue to rise. In the US, these reached 5% for the first time since 2023 and, in the German case, reached the highest value since 2009.
