ANDthis man, about sixty years old, whose identity cannot be revealed to protect his wife's anonymity, pleaded guilty to 60 sexual crimes, including rape and administration of substances to sleep his wife between 2004 and 2025.

This decision cancels the trial that was scheduled to take place in the court of Minshull Street in Manchester (Northwest England). By this year, the man had already admitted several rapes and sexual assaults against his wife.

The defendant should be tried together with 12 other men, who deny having committed serious sexual crimes against the same woman between 2018 and 2025.

The trial of these defendants, aged 28 to 73, including a paramedic and a former football coach, will indeed happen and should take place in the next few weeks in a Manchester court.

A thirteenth man, in turn, has already pleaded guilty to several offences, including sexual assault with penetration.

This case resembles that of Dominique Pelicot, convicted in France during a process that had worldwide repercussions in 2024.

His ex-wife, Gisèle Pelicot, became a figure in the fight against sexual violence after having decided to publicly witness the abuses committed by dozens of men recruited by her ex-husband.

Several trials of sexual violence facilitated by chemical submission have recently taken place in the UK and other countries of Europe. This consists of administering to a person, without his knowledge or under duress, a psychoactive substance for criminal or criminal purposes.
