Cabo Verde now has a fleet of three planes to make the connections between islands, number that will rise to four from January, announced today the state airline Cvsky.
“ With this integration, the operational fleet starts counting on three aircraft online, immediately, anticipating the planned expansion to four aircraft from January”, announced in a statement.
The country will have an alternate plane for “integral protection of the network”, he explained.
The latest ATR 72-60 aircraft will now be integrated into the fleet, following the final stage of the certification process.
Cape Verde has a chronic problem of irregularity in the links between islands.
The state company promises in today’s communiqué to consolidate the fleet, “strengthening the capacity to respond to mobility needs between islands”.
The archipelago has four international airports (Boavista, Praia, Sal and São Vicente) and three airfields (Fiego, May and São Nicolau).
