A The White House said today that Democrats – that from January onwards they will control Congress – will be unable to reverse President Donald Trump's legacy.

“ In the last two years of their presidency, the Democrats will try — and will fail — to reverse everything that President Trump has accomplished. These efforts will have the same fate as the previous attempts of the radical left: failure,” said the White House on social network X.

The publication was accompanied by Trump's well-known photograph with a raised fist, bloody face and a flag of the United States in the background — an image recorded on the day he survived an attack on his life during the election campaign of 2024.

The message is a response to the outcome of Tuesday's mid-term elections, in which the opposition won an overwhelming victory, removing the Republicans from both chambers of Congress, with historic triumphs in conservative bastions such as Texas, Kansas and Iowa.

Although Trump was directly involved in the choices of candidates and throughout the campaign, he demarcated from the Republican defeat, criticizing some of the losers and arguing that his name did not go to votes.

The polls, however, point to a “punishment vote” by the Trump government, motivated by the high cost of living — especially the price of gasoline — and the unpopular war in Iran.

Trump warned that he will veto the laws passed by the new Congress, while Democrats do not rule out the possibility of opening investigations against the President and members of his cabinet.
