A The White House requested this Tuesday that Kimberly Guilfoyle resign from the position of ambassador of the United States to Greece. There are several reports of alleged misconduct.
“ We ask Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign,” said Katie Zacharia, the new White House press secretary, at a press conference quoted by CNN International.
And he added: “She has been a wonderful addition to the team and we wish her good luck.”.
It should be noted that American President Donald Trump had already said that he would be considering firing Kimberly Guilfoyle.
“ We're thinking. We are discontented,” Trump said, when asked about it, in the White House.
Remember that in recent days, the Wall Street Journal has published several embarrassing articles for the former Fox News animator, who gained prominence in the Trump support movement, the so-called “Make America Great Again”.
According to the journal, with screen images in support, Kimberly Guilfoyle spoke for months with Eric Deters, a jurist and former Kentucky State Congressional candidate who was looking for government help to solve his tax problems.
Since 2020, this rich Republican financier has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Trump family and supported the field of the presidential winning candidate in 2024.
But the request made in July 2025 by Kimberly Guilfoyle seems to be more personal, with her intending to settle the balance of her credit letter: “Darling, I need you to do this to me today,” he wrote.
But Eric Deters did not follow up on the request, arguing that he would put his marriage at risk, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), which advanced that an ambassador's lawyer contested the authenticity of the messages, without further details.
More recently, the WSJ reported on Saturday, based on records, on conversations in which the ambassador boasts of luxury trips and stays paid by wealthy Greek entrepreneurs.
Another exchange of messages, also quoted by this newspaper, expresses its fury, using swear words, for not being invited to a World Economic Forum dinner in Davos in January.
The US press has also reproduced in recent days other possible conflicts of interest of Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was also married to California's Democratic governor Gavin Newsom.
