Ronaldo and Georgina were married at home. Couple reveals the details

As had already been revealed, it was on 11 August that the Portuguese international married Georgina Rodríguez, and this day has a special meaning. It was the day they met at the Gucci store in Madrid ten years ago.

“It’s incredible what you hear,” Georgina Rodríguez acknowledged when talking about rumors that spread days before the ceremony, which took place without great luxuries as happened recently with Taylor Swift’s marriage, for example.

Georgina Rodríguez recalled that “when she was little she dreamed of the largest castle, the largest carriage, the longest dress, a crown of diamonds”. And today dreams are different. “I want something intimate with my partner and our children at home. Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars, we have all that in our grasp every day. But something intimate is more unusual for us.”

The couple therefore preferred something more personal. “ We choose to do this in the living room of our house, where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives. In 30 years, I want the kids to think, “Something wonderful happened at this table – our parents’ wedding vows”.

Then they went to the Shrine of Fatima, which is about an hour from home, where a priest gave them the blessing. But this at an isolated moment in a small chapel. “I usually avoid places with many people,” Cristiano Ronaldo explained, adding that “if not, the crowd would make this impossible.”. 

Cristiano Ronaldo wanted marriage to be “a normal day”, I mean, “a special day but lived in a normal way”.

And the day after the ceremony, Georgina Rodríguez confirmed: “It was exactly as I imagined. Intimate, full of love and with our family as protagonist. I could not contain the tears.”

After the wedding there was no honeymoon, as they needed to return to the current residence in Saudi Arabia, more precisely in Riad, where Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr.  

The plans for the future. And there's gonna be a big party

Despite the intimate ceremony, which did not count on the presence of ‘no one’, the couple is planning to celebrate with friends and family in the future. “ We're having a big wedding so we can celebrate with family and friends.

Ronaldo confessed that “this is probably his senior year in football, wanting to leave a spectacular legacy”. And he's looking forward to spending more time with his family. “I already have my whole future planned.”

“ I have so many things to keep busy that it's hard to say just one. As football will leave a great void, we need to fill our time in various ways, not just one. And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which is something I really like, and continue to enjoy what I have conquered – than we have conquered. After all, it was 25 years with a lot of sacrifice,” he added. 

Raise the family? Have seven kids? “Never say never”

Asked about the possibility of raising the family, the couple confessed that for now it might be “too much to have another baby at home”. Still, “never say never”. 

“ When the younger ones are 15 or 16, we'll still be young, why not? It is true that I cannot imagine myself without small children, so we will see.”
