Dand according to the channel of Telegram Ostorozhno Novosti, the arrests began after the protesters initiated protests against the results of the September suffrage, demanding “just elections” and “liberation for political prisoners”.

According to the same source, quoted by the EFE agency, the demonstration had about 200 participants, including members of the Yabloko pacifist party, who was excluded from the parliamentary elections last month.

When the participants began shouting slogans against United Russia, party of President Vladimir Putin, security forces agents invaded the crowd and began to stop the protesters, Ostorozhno Novosti reported.

On Saturday, about 100 people participated in a demonstration in the Siberian city of Tyumen, also demanding the annulment of the results and a recount of the votes.

According to local media, the protest was organized by the Communist Party of Russia under the motto “By Righteous Elections”.

The demonstration arose following protests this week by the Russian Communists, who questioned the constitutional majority achieved by the party already present in the Kremlin (presidency), the United Russia, in the September elections.

The objection denounced several alleged irregularities in the Duma – the lower chamber of parliament – related to the electronic vote and the fact that the elections and the counting of votes took place for three days.

According to the final figures released by the election committee on September 25, United Russia won the vote with an overwhelming majority, obtaining 349 of the 450 seats of the Duma, a record of the party led by Vladimir Putin since 1999.

The second place, at the great distance of the leader, was conquered by the Communist Party, which will have obtained 37 seats in parliament.

These elections – the first legislative elections in Russia since the beginning of the military invasion in Ukraine in 2022 – were pointed out as fraudulent by independent monitoring organisations such as Novaya Gazeta Europa, which reported additional ballots placed in the polls and pressure on voters.
