Chris Evans talks about his daughter with Alba Baptista and the most “unexpected” part

A living a unique phase with paternity, Chris Evans was talking to The Dodo and ended up talking about the daughter he has in common with Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, baby Alma Grace. 

When reflecting on the most “unexpected” part of being the father of little Soul, Marvel’s star shared: “It may sound a little corny, but not to other parents: how much you miss it.”.

“ We put her to sleep and I just want to see how she is on the monitor ", confessed the drooling father. “I miss her even when I am hugging her. I don't know if you know what I mean? It feels weird. I just want to be always close to her”, he added in the same interview, which was published on Tuesday, August 18. 

Chris Evans also talked about his big boy, Dodger, who is also always with the baby. In fact, the actor sees his four-legged friend as an older brother to baby Alma. 

“ He's very caring. It's very protective. Sleeps outside her room when she is taking a nap”, she revealed. 

Chris Evans adopted Dodger in 2017 after recording a scene for the film "Gifted". By the time you brought the big guy home, remember, the dog had already created a good relationship with his nephews. “When I brought him home for the first time, more than 10 years ago, my sister’s children were much younger,” he recalled, referring that the big boy knew how to deal with the children.

After about two years of dating, the couple made the relationship official at an intimate ceremony in Massachusetts near where they reside, the year 2023 was running. At the time they revealed that the wedding guest list included well-known public names such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, or Jeremy Renner.

According to the U.S. press, the guests will have signed a document in which they agreed that they cannot disclose the event or use mobile phones.

Last year, Chris Evans recalled the day he proposed to the Portuguese actress and confessed that he learned to speak in Portuguese for this special moment alone. The actor gave an interview to The Knot magazine and said: “I learned to say “marry me?” in Portuguese. I've been practicing all week. [...] I was very nervous”.

Also in 2025, the couple surprised when they revealed that they were going to be parents for the first time. The daughter Alma was born in October last year.
