A Community Life and Peace launched the Recovered campaign to mobilise monthly donations of at least five euros to support the around 900 homeless or socially vulnerable people accompanied by the institution.
The initiative marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, celebrated today, and aims to support the institution that faces financial difficulties to ensure the continuity of the work carried out in the social recovery and reintegration of the accompanying people.
The campaign released in a statement presents Recovered as “the card card”, made “by those who have lived on a card”, in reference to the experience of those who have lived and live in a homeless situation.
The Life and Peace Community invites the Portuguese to support the institution's mission through a monthly direct debit donation of at least five euros.
“By joining donations. cvidaepaz.pt, each new regular donor receives the card at home, becoming part of a support network that contributes to continue the work of the Community Life and Peace with about 900 people in a homeless situation, or of social vulnerability, promoting their recovery and social reintegration ", says the institution.
“To launch this campaign on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is a way of pointing out that the fight against poverty and social exclusion requires a continuous commitment from all society,” said the Director-General of the Community Life and Peace, Renata Alves, quoted in the statement.
Renata Alves warns that the financial challenges facing the Life and Peace Community are putting the continuity of some of the responses to support for homeless people at risk.
“ Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen our support network and mobilise more people to contribute regularly, ensuring the sustainability of our intervention and the continuity of essential work for those who need it most,” Renata Alves said.
The Community Life and Peace stresses that “Recovered is the card that was missing in the Portuguese’s wallet”, because “it is the first card that passes cards to homeless people”.
To join the initiative, interested parties must access the donations website. cvidaepaz. en and subscribe to a monthly donation.
The campaign was supported by Fly Advertising, Two Birds One Shot, Alcântara Star, New Expression and Witty.
