A Local police in Castilleja de la Cuesta, Seville, intervened a driver who had a blood alcohol rate four times that allowed. When confronted, the man came up with an unexpected excuse.

The police decided to question the driver, according to El Pais, after realizing that he was performing confusing maneuvers, he circulated without a seat belt and his cell phone in his hand.

The result gave no margin for doubt: 1 mg/l of alcohol in the expired air, a value that quadruples the general maximum allowed for drivers and goes far beyond the penal threshold.

When confronted with reality, the man hastened to find an excuse for his state, stating that the fault would be the gazpacho vinegar he would have been eating before driving.

Local Police dismissed the explanation and informed the driver that he would be charged with a felony for endangering road safety.

Diario de Sevilla recalls that the limit of blood alcohol in Spain is 0.25 mg/l. The rate presented by this driver is a quantity which is above the threshold from which driving under the influence of alcohol may have criminal relevance.

In addition, and using their social networks to report the situation, they shared an illustrative image of the moment, which has generated laughter.

“I don’t believe”, writes a netizen, among laughs, while another believes that “the anecdote” should have stayed between the four walls of the police station, despite recognizing that the driver in this state could have ruined the life of another person.
