Seven-year-old kills aunt in France (this is the youngest case). What's next?

A the death of a 49-year-old woman allegedly at the hands of her seven-year-old nephew in Val-de-Marne, France, has shocked the country in recent days. The child will have stabbed his aunt after she had argued with her mother.

The French press said that discussion would have taken place around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and the women began to argue because of hair straightening. While the argument was taking place, the boy will have taken a knife and hit his aunt several times, including in his throat.

According to a police source, he told France Télévisions, the child will have said he only wanted to defend his mother. “I don’t want to go to jail, I don’t want my mother arrested. I defended her”, she said.

According to the same source, the 34 - year - old boy’s mother explained that her older sister was spending the night at her house and that the discussion ended up “intensifying”. After being attacked by his nephew, the woman fled into the street, but did not resist the injuries and died shortly thereafter.

It was a man who saw the woman hit who called the police. The child, like the mother, went to the hospital, but before being referred, the father came to the house where this tragedy happened, having said to the boy: “You wanted to defend your mother, it’s okay, it was an accident.”.

Contacted by the franceinfo station, the local Attorney General's Office replied that there will not be much detail soon, even to protect the investigation.

The possibility that the crime was committed by the mother and child was still placed on the table, but according to Le Parisien, the evidence and data collected by the authorities have been reinforcing that the child was actually the author of the crime.

A source close to the investigation also explained to the French publication that if this theory is confirmed, this will be the “first case recorded in France of a murder committed by such a young child”.

According to BFMTV, to be confirmed, the child should not be convicted given age. According to publication, the law provides for a presumption of non-discrimination for children under the age of 13.

The residents of the building, who were stained with blood, were in shock. “It’s scary. We never heard the woman and the boy”, said a neighbor. 

“ Frankly, it's inconceivable, we don't understand. It is horrible”, added another.
