Zis Lopes could not remain indifferent to the latest news concerning the singer Ariana Grande. The singer decided to take a break in her career due to the “constant and endless scrutiny” she has been suffering in recent years.
The TVI presenter, who has also been subject to criticism and negative comments due to his image, felt particularly sensitive to the theme.
“ A pause due to daily scrutiny related to your image. This makes me deeply sad. But really sad. Ariana's talent was never in question. It concerns the weight she no longer wants to carry with the criticism she receives regarding her body. Behind a screen, they're all heroes. Unfortunately, I am losing hope in humanity”, he lamented.
Zé Lopes, remember, was overweight for several years. The TVI presenter has dealt with criticism of having too much weight and now has to read and hear harsh comments about allegedly being too thin.
The communicator performed a single door metabolic surgery on February 25, 2022, aiming to lose weight and improve their health. Over the past few years it has been losing weight, keeping focus on a healthy lifestyle. However, criticisms were not too late.
In October 2025, in the face of the many comments that raised the possibility of being too thin, the presenter of the program “Good Morning Joy”, of the V+ TVI channel, reacted by making clear:
“No, I don’t. Because if I thought it would be too easy for me to get fat, because the body has memory and for much of my life I lived in the context of morbid obesity, we don't talk about overweight, we talk about morbid obesity.
Actually, I'm healthy. I'm accompanied by a nutritionist who sees that I'm fine. I've been doing some tests recently, my levels are all great and besides being in a much healthier version, I feel good about this version of my body. That’s how I like to see myself, that’s how I’m doing, so there’s nothing to change, just keeping it.”
