Arrested for kidnapping and rape in Almada in protective custody

Otwo suspects arrested by the Judiciary Police (PJ) of Setúbal for kidnapping and rape crimes on October 15, in Almada, will await trial in custody, today revealed to Lusa police source.

According to the source, the Almada Court today decreed the preventive arrest of the two suspects, a 49-year-old man and his partner, of 40, who are accused of violent assaults, rape and threat with a firearm to the victim, who believed to be the person responsible for a complaint that motivated the institutionalization of two of their children, both under the age of four.

In the investigation, the PJ of Setúbal found that the two detainees tied, assaulted and raped the victim, between 13:00 on October 15 and 9:30 on the 16th, inside the residence of the suspects, in Almada, in the district of Setúbal.

According to PJ, the victim was only able to escape on the morning of October 16 through a window, taking advantage of the fact that the two suspects had left the place to buy drugs.

After the escape, the victim was conducted to a hospital unit, having remained hospitalized for several days due to injuries suffered during the period she was abducted.
