YEAH the history of the moment that is marking football not only in Spain, but also internationally. After a shock with Jesús Owono, 25-year-old goalkeeper, Jesús de Miguel died early on Tuesday. The incident in the duel between Tenerife and FC Andorra, the guardian's club, valid for the second division of football in Spain, caused a wave of shock around the world... but also some confusion.

Shortly after the confirmation of the Spanish advance's death, several supporters, perhaps for some confusion, invaded Michel Owono's social networks to attack the African force.

Now, this same player shares the country of origin, Equatorial Guinea, with the goalkeeper of Tenerife, as well as the nickname... but nothing more. Michel Owono is also a player in Spain, but at FC Can Vidalet, of the fifth rank.

The African defense was forced to share a statement where it denounced receiving messages of hatred, racism, insults and threats from supporters who confused it with the goalkeeper.

“ First of all, I would like to express my deepest condolences for the death of the player of the CD Tenerife, Jesús de Miguel, following the violent entry he suffered in the game with FC Andorra. My deepest condolences to the family, loved ones and all the player's closest. At this difficult time, all my support and affection are with you. Rest in peace, Jesus”, started by writing the African.

“ Furthermore, I want to make it clear that I am NOT JESUS OWONO and that I have no connection with what has happened. I am being confused with someone else because of my nickname and, as a result, I have received a lot of hateful, racist, insulting and threatening messages that have hurt me deeply and which I strongly condemn,” he continued.

“ We live in an increasingly sick society where racism, hatred and intolerance seem to be gaining ground. We cannot allow anyone to be judged, insulted or threatened because of the color of their skin or origin. Respect, empathy and humanity must prevail above all else. Football must unite, not share. And hatred, harassment and discrimination have no place anywhere, neither in sport nor in life. I thank all those who have shown me support, who have worried and who have defended me during these difficult times. I really appreciate it. FOR A WORLD WITH MORE RESPECT, LESS HATE AND MORE HUMANITY,” he concluded.

The CF Can Vidalet also took a public stand on this subject.

“ We at CF Can Vidalet condemn any manifestation of racism, defamation, insult or threat. We express our full support for our player, who is suffering unjustified attacks due to a confusion of identity. Respect is not negotiable. We are at his side”, wrote the Spanish club.
