Dand the morning is when you start the day and even more with a coffee. In a Verywell Health article, nutritionist Amy Brownstein reveals why this drink is good for the liver.

Why is coffee the best drink for your liver?

Coffee contains a unique mixture of nutrients and antioxidants. Chemical compounds found in coffee can provide antioxidant support that helps protect against damage and fat accumulation in the liver.

What is the ideal amount of coffee for the health of your liver?

Research shows that the greatest benefit is obtained with two or more cups of coffee per day. However, you should be aware of the total caffeine intake, as consuming more than 400 milligrams (mg) per day may have adverse health effects.

How should your coffee be for liver health

According to a large analysis, all types of coffee, including ground, instant and decaf, reduce the risk of liver disease. However, you should pay attention to what you add to your coffee. In this sense two ingredients stand out:

Sugar: Sugar-sweetened drinks are associated with worse liver health. Although many of the drinks analyzed in studies contain more sugar than is normally added to coffee, limiting sugar consumption has a positive effect on liver health.

Added sugar contributes to hepatic steatosis, increasing the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Even one sugar - sweetened drink per week can affect the health of the liver.

Milk: studies suggest that the type of milk consumed influences its effects on liver health. Low-fat milk tends to be associated with a lower risk of liver disease (MASLD), while high-fat milk may be related to worse liver outcomes.

That is, the key is to keep your coffee as simple as possible.

Is it true that coffee helps reduce visceral fat?

After all, does coffee really help to reduce visceral fat, that is, abdominal fat that involves internal organs and poses various health risks? A doctor answered the question, highlighting all the benefits of this drink.
