A United States Coast Guard has located “a wreckage area” of the missing aircraft since Saturday off the coast of Nantucket in Massachusetts. Still, the search for the six people on board continues.

“The United States Coast Guard continues, this Saturday, the search for six people aboard a missing medical transport plane, after the search teams have located an area with debris, confirmed as being of the aircraft, off the coast of Nantucket,” the body said in a statement.

The same note recalled that “around 2 a.m. on Saturday, the Federal Aviation Administration notified the Coast Guard that contact had been lost with the Gulfstream G100 plane, with the tail number C-GRJP, while it was traveling from Bermuda to Boston.” On board they followed six people, including four Canadian citizens and two Bermuda citizens, whose “closest families have already been notified”.
The Coast Guard ship “William Sparling” continued searching throughout the night.

The authorities mobilized air and land resources to find the jet after traffic control lost contact with the aircraft, which was used as medical transport by the Canadian company Latitude Air Ambulance.

The Gulfstream G100, from Latitude Air Ambulance, lost contact with air traffic controllers yesterday morning, said the authorities, adding that air and surface media have already been mobilized for searches, according to NBC News, cited by the Spanish agency Efe.

The plane carried medically from the island of Grande Bermuda, explained Latitude Air Ambulance, Clarence Togeretz.

“ We are always worried when one of our teams does not make contact on schedule, but let us be optimistic and positive and say that this does not mean that the worst has happened,” Togeretz told NBC News.

The Massachusetts State Port Authority responsible for Logan International Airport in Boston confirmed that the aircraft did not arrive on schedule.
