A congressional approval took place on Friday and, in a statement, the United States State Department advanced that the sale includes missiles, missile launchers, anti-drone radars and other military equipment.
“ If the proposed purchase is completed, Ukraine will finance it through a combination of European contributions and funds from the US Foreign Military Financing Programme allocated by the previous administration,” the State Department said.
Ukraine has repeatedly called for more support to repel the Russian invasion of its territory, which has lasted for five years.
The capital, Kiev, has suffered a resumption of the Russian attacks, which its air defenses have difficulty repelling due to the shortage of ammunition.
