This Ford is on sale for almost two million euros. Why?

There are auctions where real bargains are found, but also models that at first glance can be surprisingly expensive. That's the case with this 2018 Ford GT we're talking about.

There's a Ford auction for almost two million euros. It is part of a lot of Mecum Auctions that did not finish during Monterey Car Week, and is still open to bids. The price is currently in the two million dollars (€1.7 million at the current exchange rate).

As Ford is a brand associated with relatively affordable models, the price may surprise you. But there are two reasons for this: it is a Ford GT, which can already cost several hundred thousand euros; and received treatment from Mansory inside, outside and even in the engine. The unit illustrated in the cover image is not the one at auction, in which blue gives way to orange.

The vehicle, which has 1,125 km, is named Ford GT Le Mansory – being based on the Ford GT that starred in the film “Le Mans”. Production was limited to three units worldwide.

The thruster is a V6 3.5 litre EcoBoost biturbo, whose modifications to the management system left it with 710 hp power. It is associated with an automatic double clutch gearbox and seven relations. There are three escape exits. The vehicle can reach 354 km/h (more 7 km/h than the base model).

The rear wing is carbon fiber and has been revised, while the 21 inch forged rims have also the signature of Mansory. The braking system includes carbo-ceramic discs with orange clamps that accompany the tonality of the body – where it contrasts with exposed carbon fiber, present for example in the lateral friezes with the Le Mansory inscription. It's five centimeters wider than the base Ford GT and there's adapted aerodynamics.

The interior is dominated by light blue Bleurion Race, with lots of visible carbon fiber, sports seats in white and blue Alcantara. There were several modifications made by Mansory.
