O The United States Government today celebrated the “real” and “notable progress” in Gaza one year after the Peace Summit in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, where the plan proposed by President Donald Trump for that territory was signed.

“ We are making real progress towards a demilitarised Gaza, where the Palestinians can live without the rule of Hamas and Israel can enjoy genuine and lasting security,” said State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott on the occasion of the first anniversary of the agreement signed by Trump, as well as the leaders of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey.

The Peace Summit in Egypt brought together about twenty international leaders.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the tenant of the White House, whose leadership “has ended a war that seemed to have no end in sight”.

By the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip had left some 67,900 dead and more than 170,000 wounded, according to the enclave authorities.

“ Since this historic advance, a number of notable achievements have laid the foundations for a new Gaza: a lasting ceasefire, the return of all hostages, both alive and deceased, the creation of the Peace Council and a Palestinian technocratic administration to govern Gaza, and a full budget recovery plan,” he said. '

Pigott, who ensured that the provision of humanitarian aid “also increased” and that his “deviation by Hamas has been reduced”, admitted, however, that the reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave “will be a hard process that will last for several years and that its implementation will be difficult”.

Last Saturday, the ceasefire agreement completed a year since its signature without the second stage and with about 1,500 Palestinians killed and over 5,100 injured by Israeli attacks since then, according to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by the Palestinian Islamic group, which accused Israel of still hindering the entry of aid and essential materials, another clause of the pact.

To this is added the fact that, during this period, Israeli troops expanded the so-called ‘yellow line’ that went from coverage and about 51% of the Range to over 60%, something that, according to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will continue to the disarmament of Hamas, thus increasing the population’s overcrowding, basically displaced in its entirety due to Israel’s devastating offensive.

On the other hand, other points of the agreement, such as the release of the kidnapped and the delivery of hostage bodies after the October 7 attacks, as well as the work for the creation and deployment of an International Stabilisation Force have been completed or progress has been made, although this has not led to a thorough process to advance in the main political, humanitarian or stabilisation objectives.

Israeli Minister wants to “anniquilate” Gaza inhabited by “million Nazis”

The Israeli Finance Minister and leader of the extreme right-wing party Religious Zionist Party, Bezalel Smotrich, today defended the need to “anniquilate” Gaza as a “terrorist entity” with the argument that is inhabited by “1.8 million Nazis”.
