O the British Prime Minister's office insists that the Fairford military air base is safe after the United States has removed all its bombers from the scene following an alleged terrorist plan.

The United States Air Force repatriated his bombers stationed at RAF Fairford in England, used to attack Iran, following an investigation into a planned terrorist attack on the facility.

The bombers were taken to their home bases in the United States, as reported yesterday.

The U.S. press reported that at the origin of the decision there was a new threat, after a serious incident on September 27, when police were alerted about three “suspecting vehicles” near the air base.

Already today, according to the British press, a spokesperson for the UK government said he would not comment on “military operations of foreign nations,” but stated that the base was safe and mentioned the comments of US President Donald Trump last week that he “appreciated” the British police, defense and security services.

Referring to the comments made last week by Secretary of Defense Wes Streeting, the spokesman said that there are “tested and proven approaches to defend our bases across the country and the world,” highlighting the protection of the air base.

Military base in the UK? “We trust the safety of all”

“ We rely on the security of all our bases because, in theory, everyone could be under threat at any time. That is why they have so many security measures around them,” said the head of US diplomacy to journalists before starting a European tour that will take you to Iceland, Greece and Portugal.

Marco Rubio added that the United States has been working “very closely” with the United Kingdom on base-related research and has ensured that the British authorities “could not have been more cooperative.”.

A week ago, five men – all British, between the ages of 22 and 25 and residents of London – were arrested in the vicinity of the British Royal Air Force base (RAF) on suspicion of participation in a terrorist plan. They were later released on bail.

The British authorities linked the incident to Tehran.

Although Iran has denied any involvement, the country has already stated that it considers any basis used to attack its territory as a legitimate target.

The UK authorities state that Iran-supported groups have been responsible for a series of attacks in US allied countries, many of which have addressed the Jewish community, and have warned that Tehran will be able to expand its targets in the United Kingdom if conflicts in the Middle East continue.

The RAF Fairford, located 160 kilometers from London, was used by American bombers during decades of conflict in the Middle East.

The U.S. military still maintain a considerable presence in the region, with a U.S. official saying on Thursday that the newly deployed USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier, as well as the amphibious readiness group USS Malkin Island — a group of ships carrying more than 7,000 sailors and 2,000 marines — are on their way to the region.
