“ Stwo island teams. The Maritime, in his home, the tradition is that it is usually strong, with an audience that always leaves practically the stadium full. A team that transited with many players from the last season and with a new coach”, said Petit, in the press room of the stadium of São Miguel, in Ponta Delgada, in the preview of the game of the 10th journey.

The technician recognized that the Maritime comes from “less good results”, after defeats against Sporting for the League Cup (2-1) and Vitória de Guimarães for the championship (5-0), but admitted “doubts” on the tactical system of the Madeiran team, which can either present itself in a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-2-2-3.

“ We are focused on what is going to be a demanding game and that will force us to be at a level of concentration and alert quite large ", vincou.

Santa Clara, who is being the ‘sensation’ team of the championship, added the first defeats of the season in the last two games, with out against Mafra for Cup of Portugal (3-2, after extension) and with Benfica on the last journey (2-1).

“ We were frustrated at the end [of the game with Benfica] because we felt we played a good game against a candidate for the title, where we could have had another result. It didn't happen. We came from a defeat in the championship and away from the Cup, but this team has to react and is on the right path ", reinforced.

Petit confirmed that Louis Fernando is called to the game with the Maritime (although he was expelled after the final whistle of the game with Benfica, marked by disagreements between the teams), such as Gonçalo Patience, who has already recovered from injury.

Santa Clara, a room with 18 points, will face the Marítimo, 14th with eight, next Sunday, at 18:00, at the Estádio do Marítimo, in Funchal, with arbitration of Carlos Macedo (Associação de Braga).
