O Government of Madeira has opened applications for two incentive systems for companies, with a total value of more than EUR 30 million, today indicated regional Secretary of Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues.
One of the programmes is for export industrial companies, with an allocation of EUR 6.7 million, and applications are also open to the system of incentives to support other operating costs, worth EUR 24 million, reads a note sent to the editors.
“ It is more than 30 million euros that constitute important support at the time companies and families pay the painful invoice of the increase in fuel prices”, said José Manuel Rodrigues, quoted in the statement.
The ruler, who spoke at the presentation session of the Madeira Goods Go Global training program, stressed that “the insular condition introduces constraints that companies have to know how to integrate in their decisions”, but “it does not determine the scope that their activity can achieve.”.
The Madeira Goods Go Global program is the result of a partnership between Madeira Business Parks (MPE), under the supervision of the Regional Secretariat of Economics, and the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP).
José Manuel Rodrigues said that “the quality of regional products does not in itself guarantee success in external markets, it is necessary to know consumers, identify distribution channels, assess logistics costs and ensure the regularity of supply”.
The president of MPE, Gonçalo Pimenta, also quoted in the note, indicated that “17 of the 24 companies identified in the business parks as starting or strengthening export or internationalization processes have joined the initiative, which corresponds to a participation rate of 70.83%”.
The program integrates a face-to-face session and an online training component, entirely free of charge for registered companies, organized in six two-hour modules each.
The training covers export, international marketing, logistics, participation in international fairs, environmental, social and governance practices and financing and export support, is mentioned.
