Nthe meeting today was approved “a decree-law amending the regime applicable to the supplementary work carried out following the storm ‘Kristin’, ensuring uniform treatment for workers of central and local government and the state and local business sector”, reads in the statement of the Council of Ministers.
According to the same note, this measure allows the exceptional regime to be applied from January 28 to June 28 — period of calamity.
This ensures the same framework for all workers involved in responding to the effects of the storm.
Portugal was hit by a convoy of storms earlier this year, which mainly affected the Central region.
The Government has established an exceptional and temporary regime of administrative and financial simplification for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of heritage and infrastructure located in the municipalities affected by storm Kristin.
In this context, it determined that the additional work of workers of the central, local and corporate government of the State and the local sector were not subject to the legal limits provided for in the General Labour Law in Public Functions and the Labour Code.
This measure had three months in duration since the publication of the diploma in question, ending on 13 May.
