O portuense, number three national and 127th world, took two hours and 33 minutes to impose himself on the opponent (228th ATP) in three sets, for the partials of 2-6, 6-4 and 6-4, and win his first title challenger career in Portugal.
“I had some problems at the beginning of the week and I didn’t know if I would be well enough to play and be here today winning this title, playing at my best level, it really means a lot to me,” said the young Portuguese player, 22 years old.
Thanks to today's triumph in the central court of Monte Aventino, Henrique Rocha achieved the third challenger trophy of the season, after the triumphs in Brasilia and Perugia, and fifth of his career, after the victories in Murcia in 2024 and Matsuyama in 2025.
With the title won today at Porto Open, Henrique Rocha is already virtually in the 106th place in the ATP ranking, which will be updated on Monday, and is closer to becoming the ninth Portuguese tennis player to reach the world top 100.
