Na television statement, the rebel group's military spokesman, Yahya Sarea, said that in operations “a large number” of ballistic and cruise missiles was used, as well as drones.
These “set their targets,” he said, describing them as “sensitive targets” in the Saudi capital and in the facilities of Saudi national oil Aramco in Yanbu.
According to Sara, both operations were Huthis’ response to Saudi military operations in Yemen and achieved their objectives and provoked “massive fires” in the attacked sites.
Saudi Arabia issued on Friday night for today warnings of risk of attacks on the capital for the first time since the resumption of hostilities with Yemen's Huthis, supported by Iran, followed by strong explosions heard in the city.
The warnings in Riyadh were the first in the Saudi capital since the latest escalation with the Huthis. No casualties or damage were reported after the alerts were lifted.
Huthis spokesperson warned that they will respond to the “Saudi military escalate” with more military actions, “block by blockade and climbing”.
The exchange of attacks between the two sides takes place in a context of resumption of the ground fighting between the Huthis, supported by Iran, and the internationally recognized Yemeni government, which has Riyadh as its main supporter.
