O IGCP today holds two Treasury Bonds (TO) auctions, around ten and 26 years, with an overall indicative amount of up to EUR 1,500 million.

In a statement, the IGCP – Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency states that the maturity of the OTs to be auctioned is 13 June 2036 (nine years and eight months) and 12 April 2052 (25 years and six months).

The overall indicative amount for these two auctions is between EUR 1,250 million and EUR 1,500 million.

In the previous OT auctions, on 9 September, the IGCP placed EUR 1,631 million, below the indicative maximum amount, in OT at around three, eight and nine years at 3,122%, 3,559% and 3,632% rates, respectively.

Interest rise has an impact on debt, but there is “flexibility”

The chairman of the Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency (IGCP) admitted in parliament that the rise in interest rates “naturally does not have a positive impact” on debt, but pointed out “flexibility”, thanks to maturity management.
