O iPhone Duo will officially arrive in stores this Friday, October 23, and in the meantime begin to circulate some official information about the phone specifications – as is the case of the battery that can be found inside.

Account macromors website that the iPhone Duo has a 4,883mAh battery divided into two parts, which has a 51-hour autonomy for each cycle. The available information also indicates that the battery will maintain its original performance for at least a thousand charging cycles.

Repairing your iPhone Duo is more expensive than buying an iPhone 17

The pre-sale period of the iPhone Duo starts this Friday, October 13th, but there's one important thing you need to know before you bet on Apple's folding phone. It's related to the repair costs.

It is important to mention that the iPhone Duo is Apple's third phone with the highest battery capacity, just behind iPhone 17 Pro Max (with 5.088mAh) and iPhone 18 Pro Max (with 5.567mAh).

With the launch of the iPhone Duo scheduled for the end of this week, we won't have to wait much longer to know what we can do with Apple's first foldable phone.

You'll have to wait for 2027 to buy the iPhone Duo

The first to order the iPhone Duo will be able to start using it on the release date, scheduled for October 23rd. However, everyone else will have to wait a little longer.

This is because, as Apple's online store in Portugal indicates, those interested in purchasing the iPhone Duo are currently having a delivery forecast only for early 2027 – more precisely for January 22nd.

It is worth remembering that the iPhone Duo was announced in September such as iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. These top-of-the-line models have already been launched on the market, with the release of this foldable to have been pointed towards the end of October.

It is also important to remember that before the pre-sale period of iPhone Duo began, Apple decided to increase the production goals of the foldable. Instead of the 6 to 7 million that would be produced by the end of 2026, 10 million units will now be produced.

CEO of Nothing: “iPhone Duo is a waste of money”

Nothing's CEO, Carl Pei, criticized iPhone Duo, stating that it is a “waste of money” due to its high price and lack of functionality compared to other Apple models.

The decision will have been taken after Apple has verified a consumer interest above expectations and, given the waiting period for iPhone Duo, the membership of those interested in buying the fold seems to have proven that the strategy was the right one.

Remember that iPhone Duo will be available in a 256GB base version for the price of EUR 2,399. The foldable will also be available in 512GB versions for 2,649 euros, 1TB for 3,149 euros and 2TB for 3,899 euros.

The delivery forecast for new orders from iPhone Duo seems to be across all these storage settings. This means that regardless of the configuration you choose for your iPhone Duo, you will still have to wait until the beginning of 2027 to start using your phone.

Of course, this information is not enough to be sure about the success that iPhone Duo will have. However, the fact that sufficient purchases have been made so that new foldable orders are not satisfied until 2027 is a good indicator that the membership of iPhone Duo may be to Apple's liking.
