A alice Marques defended today that the Portuguese women's football team will have to re-do their best in the second hand of the play-off access to World Cup2027, in front of Northern Ireland.

In statements to journalists, in the hotel unit in which the Portuguese team is housed, in Lagos, the Portuguese player anticipated the decisive game scheduled for Tuesday, from 19:15, in the Municipal Stadium of Portimão.

In the first hand, last Friday, Portugal won by 4-0, an advantage that, in Alice Marques’ opinion, “is very good”.

Still, the Portuguese athlete, who counts an internationalization ‘AA’, warned that the “second part” of this elimination is still missing.

“ I don't think there are quiet games when they're that important. We will have to do our best again and face it the same way we did there [in Northern Ireland]”, he defended.

After the first hand out, Portugal will have to “be aware”, a situation to which Francisco Neto, national selector, also warned its players.

“ He told us it was a positive game, but the job isn't done yet. We need to improve what we need to improve and maintain what has been done well,” said Alice Marques.

On a more personal level, the defense, which was born in France, but became naturalized Portuguese, spoke of a good beginning of season in the Spanish of Seville, where it has played since 2025.

“ I'm very happy. The first part of this time was positive for me and the group. What is happening in Seville helps me get here”, he said.

If you surpass Northern Ireland, Portugal will face the winner of the fight between Croatia and Iceland, in the final round, on November 26th and December 5th.

The World Cup2027 will be held in Brazil between June 24 and July 25.

Portugal, which was present in the last three Europeans, in 2017, 2022 and 2025, seeks to repeat the unprecedented presence in World Championships, after the debut in 2023, which ended in the group stage, but with a victory against Vietnam and a draw before the United States.
