The show is starring João Baião, Cristina Oliveira, Mané Ribeiro, Luís Garcia, João Frizza, João Lopes and Susana Cacela, and repeats the next day in that showroom of Sintra, in two more sessions.
From 16 to 20 March 2027, the play will have six sessions at Teatro Tivoli, in Lisbon, adds a press release of the production.
Based on the comedy “Run for your wife”, written by British actor, director and playwright Ray Cooney, born in 1932, “Love is like this” accompanies João Baião, a man who secretly manages to reconcile two lives, two houses and two women, according to the synopsis.
Organized, punctual and methodical, the protagonist manages, without anyone suspicious, to reconcile two marital relations, interpreted by Barbara Paião and Prazeres Baião, in a situation that, for years, results in perfection.
However, a small unforeseen event ends by collapsing this balance and triggering a succession of misconceptions, lies, with curious neighbors, unexpected phone calls and persistent police in never ending hilarious situations, adds the presentation of the show.
“Love is like this” is the Portuguese adaptation of “Run for your wife”, by Ray Cooney, who, according to production, is “one of the greatest successful comedies in theater history”.
After nine years on the scene at the West End of London, “Run for your wife” reached Broadway and won the main international stages, eventually being translated into dozens of languages and represented in more than 50 countries.
The sessions from the 16th to the 19th of March, at Teatro Tivoli BBVA, take place at 9pm, while on the 20th there are two recits: at 3:30 and at 9pm.
In October, at the Jorge Sampaio auditorium of the Olga Cadaval Center, the premiere will take place on the 23rd, at 9pm. The next day, the sessions are at 3:30 and 9 p.m.
