A french far-right leader Marine Le Pen will have strengthened his position for the French presidential elections of 2027 after the weekend riots, coming out victorious in every possible scenario, according to a poll.

The survey of the IFOP-Fiducial Institute published on Tuesday by Le Figaro, LCI and Sud Radio, which was carried out between Saturday night and Monday, the most critical period of disturbances in France, points out that the leader of the Rassemblement Nacional (RN or National Regrouping) would obtain between 34% and 38% of votes in the first round, plus one to one and a half points than in the previous measurement, considering comparable scenarios.

In a possible second round, Le Pen would defeat all the candidates included in the study and obtain 56% against former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, 58% against former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, 59% against former Socialist President François Hollande and 57% against MEPs Raphaël Glucksmann, winner of the Social Democrats primary.

His advantage would be even greater (68%) against La France Insumise party leader (LFI, France Insubmissive), Jean-Luc Mélenchon, whom the French government points out as the main responsible for the disturbances.

According to IFOP's director-general of opinion polls, Frédéric Dabi, Le Pen is the only candidate to be strengthened from recent events, consolidating his image as representative of the order.

Philippe, leader of the Horizons Party, would fall to 15% in the scenario in which he competes as the only candidate of the centrist bloc, minus three points than in the previous poll and six points below the level recorded three weeks earlier.

To the left, Mélenchon would be between 15% and 20% of the votes and would be second in all scenarios studied, either alone or tied with another candidate. Glucksmann would get between 12% and 16%.

The survey also reflects difficulties for the candidates of the traditional right, since former Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau of the Republican Party (LR, conservatives), would reach between 5% and 7.5%, while the mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard (former LR and founder of Nouvelle Energie), would reach up to 7%.

At least 2,400 people were arrested throughout the country during the serious riots and pillage that took place on the weekend in the French capital and other cities, including looting of hundreds of shops and attacks on public buildings.
