O Flamengo is still ‘endiabrado’ and took, in the early hours of Sunday to Monday, another potentially important step in the fight for the title of Brazilian champion, by taking the best over Bahia, in the Arena Fonte Nova, by categorical 0-3, thus making up a cycle of seven victories after the last eight days.

The team guided by Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim still had no easy life, in Salvador, so that he could only undo the null at the passage of 64 minutes, when Jorginho converted a great penalty committed by Marco Moreno, following a fault on Jorge Carrascal.

Still, Mengon refused to be satisfied, and at 73 minutes, Gonzalo Plata (former Sporting player) scored the goal of tranquillity, when he head-to-head diverted a cross with an account and measure carried out by Samuel Lino (ex-Gil Vicente), thus dumping an authentic ‘bald of cold water’ on the fans of the hosts.

The final ‘machadada’ would eventually appear only five minutes, the result of a brilliant individual initiative by Lucas Paquetá, who ‘took’ the ball over an opponent and took another one out of the way, before ‘shooting’ to the bottom of Ronaldo’s goal, for the one who was already the 13th goal after 39 official games, in all competitions, in 2026.

The results (and the accounts) of Brasileirão

On the 31st day of Brasileirão, there were victories, not only of Flamengo, but also of Mirassol (on the International, by 2-0), Botafogo (on Chapecoense, by 1-0), Atlético Mineiro (on the Coritiba, by 1-0), Palmeiras (on the Athletico Paranaense, by 0-2), São Paulo (on the Vasco da Gama, by 1-0), Santos (on the Fluminense, by 1-2) and Cruzeiro (on the Grêmio, by 2-4).

To date, the only tie (in this case, to a ball) took place in the Olympic Stadium of Pará, between Remo and Bragantino. However, the round will only end at 00h00 (Hour of Continental Portugal) on Tuesday, at Neo Química Arena, which will receive the clash that will put, face to face, Corinthians and Victoria.

After the accounts, with this set of results (and at a time when there are only seven days left to compete, the Flamengo, Leonardo Jardim, is leader, with 67 points, one more than the second ranked Palmeiras, of compatriot Abel Ferreira. Later, there are the Athletico Paranaense, with 53 points, Cruzeiro and Fluminense, with 51 each.

Atlético Mineiro lives in the sixth place (immediately below the clearance zone for the next sports season of 2026 of the Libertadores Cup), with 50 points, followed precisely from Bahia, with 49.
