“ Combiter anti-Semitism and terrorism, everywhere and always, work for peace and security of all: this is the commitment of France”, Macron wrote on social networks.
The French President recalled that Hamas' attacks caused the death of more than 1,200 people, including 51 French citizens, and expressed solidarity with Israel and the families of the victims.
“ Three years later, we did not forget the names or faces,” Macron said, mentioning Maya, Ohad and Valentin among the victims.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot will be present representing France at the official ceremony in Tel Aviv in memory of the 1,200 victims of the attacks on the third anniversary of the massacre.
Following these terrorist attacks, Israel started a war that devastated the Gaza Strip and caused more than 74,000 deaths.
An independent UN expert committee, as well as Israeli human rights organisations and international entities such as Amnesty International, concluded that Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip constitute a genocide against the Palestinian people.
